Donna D. Johnson, PhD, MBA, RN, NE-BC, CPHQ

Senior Nursing Director Donna Johnson, PhD, MBA, RN, NE-BC, CPHQ, joined the leadership team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in 2024. Prior to that, she served in senior nursing leadership roles at St. Francis Medical Center in Richmond, Va., Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU; Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital and Sloane Hospital for Women at New York Presbyterian; and Children’s National Hospital, where she began her nursing career. In 2022, Johnson received her PhD in Health Services Leadership from Walden University, winning the Harold L. Hodgkinson Award for Outstanding Dissertation for her research exploring the relationships between nurse leader self-efficacy, burnout, and intent to leave.
