Our Pediatric Sleep Disorders program offers a pediatric focused, multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and management of sleep disorders in children and adolescents. Our program includes a team of pediatric specialists in pulmonary medicine, neurology, otolaryngology, and psychology. This expert team evaluates children and teenagers with various sleep disorders and offers recommendations for medical, surgical, or behavioral treatment.
Our Sleep Disorder Center has been continuously accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine since 1985.

- Adolescent sleep problems (Delayed sleep phase syndrome)
- Central hypoventilation syndrome
- Chronic respiratory failure
- Infants who have experienced an apparent life-threatening event
- Insomnia
- Narcolepsy
- Nighttime fears
- Parasomnias
- Restless leg syndrome
- Sleep disordered breathing
- Sleep apnea
- Snoring and obstructive sleep apnea
- Sleep terrors
- Sleep disturbances associated with chronic illness

The following are a few examples of symptoms of various sleep disorders. If your child is experiencing any of these symptoms, speak with your primary care physician.
- Difficulty falling or staying asleep
- Inability to get enough sleep; lack of sleep affecting behavior or learning
- Chronically sleepy or irritable during the day despite apparently getting enough sleep at night
- Pauses in breathing during sleep
- Difficulty breathing, breathing heavily, or snoring while asleep
- Poor attention or problems focusing in school
- Frequent nighttime awakenings
- Frequent leg or arm jerks (every minute or more) while asleep; funny, unpleasant feeling in legs during the evening when at rest
- Difficulty waking for school in the morning; sleeps several hours later on weekends
- Frequent nightmares; frequent screaming, yelling, thrashing, or walking in sleep
