Dr. Karen Kim Evans is an Associate Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at MedStar Georgetown University Medical Center. She trained at Georgetown University Medical Center and joined the faculty in the department in the Center for Wound Healing.
She is also the medical student clerkship director for Plastic Surgery. Her interests include all aspects of reconstructive surgery, abdominal wall reconstruction, microsurgery, and limb salvage. She is active nationally and internationally in a variety of academic pursuits including lecturing and publishing on reconstructive surgery.
Along with multiple research grants and several awards for excellence in medical student and resident education, Dr. Evans is active in the editorial peer-review process for clinical journals and has published numerous manuscripts and book chapters in reconstructive plastic surgery. She is also an active board member of the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
