Purvi Jani, MHA, MBA

Purvi Jani serves as the vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) for MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center and MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital

Purvi was first appointed as the interim CFO for MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center in July 2023 and later for MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in September 2023. During this period, she collaborated on various targeted initiatives aimed at improving clinical denials and implemented comprehensive personnel reporting across all operational areas.

Purvi has previously worked as AVP, Financial Reporting, Revenue Cycle at MedStar Washington Hospital Center since 2013. Her extensive role included overseeing critical revenue cycle functions, such as coding, Health Information Management (HIM), Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI), patient access, centralized call center operations, and financial reporting. During her time at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Purvi made significant contributions by implementing process improvements, workflows, automation, and backend appeals processes, which substantially reduced denials and enhanced the organization's overall efficiency.

Before joining MedStar Health, Purvi held the prestigious position of CFO at Parallon Business Performance Group, a subsidiary of HCA, located in San Antonio, Texas.

Purvi's academic achievements are equally remarkable, as she holds both a Master of Health Administration and a Master of Business Administration from Texas Women's University in Denton, TX, with a concentration on finance.
