Dawn Yeitrakis, MS, BSN, RN, NEA-BC, has more than 22 years experience working in nursing. Most recently, she has served as director of MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital’s Emergency Department, which treats more than 50,000 patients a year. Dawn has also served as interim director of Women’s Health & Family Birthing Center and helped that department achieve recognition as a Baby Friendly Hospital in 2016.
Dawn has extensive experience in emergency nursing having also served on the St. Mary’s County Rescue Squad Association and as a member of the MIEMSS Region V Advisory Council. She holds memberships in the Emergency Nurses Association, Maryland Nurses Association, American Nurses Association, and the American Organization of Nurse Executives.
Dawn has a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and a Master of Science - both from the University of Maryland at Baltimore - and has a graduate certificate in Teaching and Learning for Nursing & Health Professions. She has received several nursing excellence awards throughout her career.
