Dannita Dyson, MBA
Dannita Dyson, MBA, is MedStar Washington Hospital Center's vice president of Professional Services. Dannita has more than 20 years of healthcare experience, including developing and maintaining administrative systems, managing staff, revenue cycle, data analysis, and developing operating procedures.
After graduating from high school, Dannita joined MedStar Washington Hospital Center in 2000 as a cashier, working weekends in the Lobby Shop. From there, she transferred to Occupational Health as an administrative assistant and eventually to Emergency Medicine, her home for more than 15 years. She started as a research assistant and pivoted to operations while completing her bachelor's and master's degrees.
In 2017, she transitioned within the Emergency Department to MedStar Medical Group as an administrative manager and was later promoted to administrative director. In 2022, Dannita advanced to senior director of Integrated Surgical Services at MWHC.
In her role as vice president, she is responsible for managing the business and administrative operations of clinical service lines and ancillary departments, including Behavioral Health, Women's and Infants' Services, Medicine, ENT/OMF/Ophthalmology, Ancillary and Rehabilitation Services (Laboratory and Pathology, Rehabilitation, and Hearing and Speech), Imaging and Radiation Safety, Oncology, and Trauma and Burn. She also serves as executive liaison with MedStar Medical Group, working closely with MMG on all clinical service lines.
