Jessica Fields, MD, MHA, MBA, is the assistant vice president of Medical Operations and Case Management at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
Dr. Fields is responsible for directing hospital Throughput, collaborating with the Medical and Dental Staff, Residents, Fellows, and the Clinical Resource Management department to ensure appropriate utilization of hospital resources and timely, efficient, and safe patient discharges to post-acute care.
Previously, Dr. Fields served as physician advisor, where she focused on leading physician rounding, facilitating communication for all hospital ancillary services, educating and advising medical teams on the discharge process, and collaborating with skilled nursing facilities.
Dr. Fields received her medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel, and a Master of Business Administration degree and a Master of Healthcare Administration degree from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
Dr. Fields completed her residency at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. She began her career first as a medicine hospitalist and later as a cardiology hospitalist with MedStar Heart & Vascular Institute.
