The MedStar Health/Georgetown-Washington Hospital Center Pulmonary & Critical Care Fellowship Program accepts two to three fellows annually. We also accept one fellow trained in emergency medicine for our two-year Critical Care Medicine Program annually. Requests for an additional year of critical care training by individuals already subspecialized in another field of internal medicine (i.e. infectious diseases, cardiology, etc.) are considered on a case-by-case basis.
Our program also participates in training select emergency-medicine trained physicians who are members of the United States Air Force in the field of critical care medicine.
All applicants must apply and submit supporting documents through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). One of the three letters of recommendation must be from the internal medicine residency program director.
We are currently accepting applications for fellowships commencing in 2021.
Foreign medical graduates should refer to the Washington Hospital Center's visa policy for more information.
