Lauren Ruehle is a dedicated Nurse Practitioner specializing in urgent and primary care services at MedStar Urgent Care clinics. Her journey in healthcare began at West Virginia University, where she earned dual bachelor's degrees in exercise physiology and nursing.
With a passion for patient care, she started her career as an inpatient pediatric nurse, spending nearly six years at the bedside providing compassionate and high-quality care. During this time, she took on various roles, including mentoring nursing students, training new hires, and serving as a charge nurse, honing her leadership and clinical skills.
Driven by a desire for greater autonomy and impact, she pursued further education at West Virginia University to become a Certified Nurse Practitioner. Since then, she has had the privilege of working in both Urgent Care and Primary Care settings, where she’s been able to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives.
Over the past three years as part of the MedStar team, she’s embraced opportunities to expand her role beyond clinical practice. Her passion for teaching has led to a dynamic career path, where she now mentors and trains members of the fellowship program while continuing to provide exceptional patient care. She takes pride in helping nurse practitioner students and fellows develop their skills and has been fortunate to receive positive feedback on her approach to care and mentorship.
In addition to her clinical and educational responsibilities, Lauren is actively involved in various committees at MedStar, contributing to the advancement of healthcare practices and patient outcomes.
She is excited to continue growing and making a difference in healthcare, leveraging her expertise and passion to provide the highest level of care possible.
