MEDICAL STUDENT ELECTIVES/ROTATIONS
Our program uses only VSLO (Visiting Student Learning Opportunities) through the Georgetown University School of Medicine for visiting fourth year elective applications. Please use the following link to obtain more information about the elective application process and to access the VSLO application: https://som.georgetown.edu/medicaleducation/curriculum/electives/departments/ophthalmology.
Students who serve electives at the MedStar Georgetown University Hospital/MedStar Washington Hospital Center Ophthalmology Residency Program are exposed to a myriad of ophthalmic conditions, diseases, and clinical and surgical procedures, presenting patients with their assigned residents to attending physicians. They also have the opportunity to actively participate in the didactic program by making case presentations or presenting brief research projects.
